CHINGGIS KHAAN COMPLEX (Sukhbaatar Square)
One of the significant and permanent results of the celebration of the 800th
anniversary of the foundation of the Great Mongolian State has been the
construction of the Chinggis Khaan complex in front of the national
parliamentary building, facing Sukhbaatar Square The five-storey complex has 64
columns and is designed to be the Great Hall of State Ceremony en^ed on gilded
bronze statues of Chinggis Khaan and his generals Boorchi and Mukhulai. The se£
ed Chinggis statue is 5.4 metres high on a 1.8-metre base. It is flanked by two
3.5-metre seated statues of hhe successors, Khubilai Khaan and Ogodei Khaan,
while the generals on horses, 4 2-metres high.
To mark the 800th anniversary of the founding of the Great Mongolian State, a
Chinggis Khaan Complex was built south of the parliamentary building, including
a Great Hall of State Ceremony. It is planned that within the hall will be
placed the following:
- Painting of the Great Huraldai (parliament) on the edge of Lake
Onon-Tsagaan, where the Mongol Empire was founded in 1206;
- Nine White Banners;
- Seal of the Mongol Empire;
- Unique and valuable copy of The Secret History of the Mongols;
- Copies of: Chinggis Khaan's Ikh Zasag law; the decree founding the Bogd
Khaan monarchy; the 1924 Constitution of the People's Republic of Mongolia;
and the Constitutions of 1940, 1960 and 1992;
- National emblem;
- National flag;
- National anthem;
- Map of the national.
