SIGHTS OF INTEREST IN ULAANBAATAR
MONGOLIA. PHOTO. ULAANBAATAR 2000
In 2000, holding onto a heavy camera, I took my first steps through the streets
of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. It was my first acquaintance with this
amazing country, and I tried to capture every moment of my journey in
photographs. A world full of contrasts opened up in front of me: modernity mixed
with ancient traditions, stone buildings adjoined endless steppes, and the
diversity of cultures intertwined with the beauty of nature.
Flipping through the pages of the photo album, I immerse myself in the
memories of my first impressions. The examples of Buddhist temples towering on
the horizon are side by side with the smiling faces of local residents who
demonstrate the unique Mongolian culture in every detail of their lives. I
remembered the peaceful streets of Ulaanbaatar, saturated with the aroma of
freshly brewed tea and a variety of souvenirs. The photos bring to life bright
holidays in the main square, where the country's past is smoothly intertwined
with its present.
These photos, so dissimilar, but connected by a common theme of my discovery
of a new world, remain a living testimony to what Ulaanbaatar was like in 2000.
They not only captured the moments of my first acquaintance with Mongolia, but
also became a kind of bridge between my impressions and the endless desire to
return again and again to this wonderful city.
