Menshikov Palace (branch of the State HERMITAGE)
The first palace in St. Petersburg constructed in the 1710-1720s to the design of G.M. Fontana and J.G. Schaedel was owned by Peter I's
close associate, the first governor-general of St Petersburg Alexander Menshikov.
Menshikov Palace today it is a branch of the State Hermitage. Mounted in its inveriors is a
permanent exhibition "Russian culture from 1700 to the 1730s".
