RUSSIAN FAR EAST
PRIMORSKY KRAY
SIGHTSEEING
We invite you on a tour to Khasan County, which is located in the extreme south of Primorsky Kray where the Russian, Chinese and North Korean
borders converge. This unique county is one of the most interesting and beautiful places in Northeast Asia. Its primordial nature includes mountain
reliefs, picturesque landscapes, wetlands, and a jagged coastline with a great number of splendid bays, beaches and lagoons, all of which make it
an ideal spot for ecotourists and scuba divers.
Kedrovaya Pad' Reserve, Russia's oldest nature reserve, is one of Khasan's wonders and part of the last remaining
habitat of the Far Eastern Leopard. The county's highlights are Khasan Nature Park with its
unique wetlands, deer farm, salmon farm, and Gamov Cape and Lighthouse. Horseback riding, scuba diving, boat excursions, fishing - all
this will make your trip unforgettable.
You'll explore Northern Primorye, studying the Central Sikhote-Alin Mountains' flora and fauna. Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, this
unique region is one of the few places on Earth where Nature is kept in its pristine form. Sikhote-Alin Biosphere Nature Reserve
is situated here, comprising the area of under a half a million hectares. Though home to many
formidable animal species, the untamed wilderness is ruled by just one - Siberian Tiger. Scientists from Hornocker Wildlife Institute (Idaho, USA) work
here with Russian colleagues on the Siberian Tiger Project. Radiotracking with Project participants, patrolling with Tiger Inspection, and hiking with wildlife
biologists will help you to discover the Tigerland.
Discover Lazovsky Nature Reserve. This is an excellent chance to see:
- Elomov Waterfalls, one of the most beautiful spots in all of Primorye;
- Petrov Island, home to the ancient Yew Tree and natural botanical gardens;
- long sandy beaches of the Sea of Japan and medicinal hot springs;
- the ridges of the Sikhote-Alin Mountain Range, one of the most breathtaking sites in the Russian Far East.
We take you to Russia's only marine reserve, which is unique in its
beauty and bio-diversity. The reserve is a picturesque blend of islands and
coastline, wind-carved cliffs, sandy beaches, striking geological sculptures,
subtropical forests and inland waterways. The islands and cliffs are home to
Larga seal rookeries and marine bird colonies. The reserve's waters abound in
highly varied marine life and feature underwater rocks, banks and reefs covered
with an almost continuous «living carpet.» Among the underwater life you can see
are the giant octopus, Kamchatka king crab, starfish, sea urchins and sea
cucumbers. Breathtaking landscapes and views, crystal-clear water and a ring
of islands: You'll find your tour of Russia's only marine reserve an
unforgettable experience!
Explore the Southern Sikhote-Alin mountain-taiga area. We
invite you to spend several days deep in the wilderness face to face with
nature. The highest mountains of Primorye (1600-1800 m),
crystal clear water and waterfalls of mountain rivers give the area a special
attractiveness. The Ussuri, the longest river in Primorye, begins here. Unique forests and highland landscapes
with a wide range of animal and
plant species a dd to the area's appeal. Arkhipovka Village is
located in the heart of the Southern Sikhote -Alin near the Ussuri River.
