Khar Balgas Ordu Baliq or the Black ruins is the ancient capital of Uigur Khanate. Arkhangai Aimag




Khar Balgas Ordu Baliq, also known as Khar Balgas, is an ancient city located in the Arkhangai Aimag region of Mongolia. It was established as the capital of the Uyghur Khaganate in the 8th century and served as an important political, economic, and cultural center for the Uyghur people.

The archaeological site of Khar Balgas Ordu Baliq includes the remains of the city's walls, palaces, temples, and other structures, providing valuable insights into the Uyghur civilization. This city which seems to have been reclaimed by the land has walls jutting through small sand dunes and when you stand at the top of some of the walls you get a sense of just how large the city was as you can still see the city layout.
