At the western entrance to the Bogdkhan National Park, near the turn-off to the left at the unlikely traffic light along the main road between
Ulaanbaatar and Zuunmod, the
Chinggis Khaani Khuree (Chinggis Khaan Khuree, Chingisiin Khuree) ger camp can justifiably claim to be 'different'. It goes the whole hog with the Chinggis Khaan theme: there's a museum with leftovers from
the movie about the great man and it includes costumes, weapons, armory and ger carts. The restaurant has to be seen to be believed: each seat is an enormous throne, set inside a huge ger with a
bear-skin welcome mat, and the walls are lined with the skins of 84 unfortunate snow leopards.
