Khankhar uul ger camp is located on the way from Ulaanbaatar to Kharakorum (Kharkhorin), the ancient capital city of Mongolia.

Total distance from Ulaanbaatar city to Khankhar Uul tourist camp is 280 km.
 

Khankhar Uul resort was opened in 2006. Camp is located at front side of Khogno Khaan Mountains. The main attractions of the resort are two old temples - Ovgon and Erdenekhamba (just 2 km distance). Location of Khankhar Uul resort is unique as you can see here the combination of the Gobi desert, steppers, rocky mountains and grassland landscapes.

• Khankhar Uul ger camp is located in 280 km from Ulaanbaatar (on the way from Ulaanbaatar to Kharakorum)
• Accommodation services: There are 30 gers, 2 - 4 beds in each ger (yurts) with capacity to receive 80 - 100 guests
• Restaurant services: Restaurant constructed in a huge wooden Mongolian ger.

PLACES TO VISITED AROUND TOURIST CAMP

• Hogno Haan uul. Although it's just off the main Ulaanbaatar-Kharkhorin highway, this nature reserve sees relatively few visitors. Its arid terrain of rocky semi-desert is good for short hikes and there are a few old temples to explore, both ruined and active. At the southern foot of the mountain are the ruins of Ovgon Khiid, built in 1660 and destroyed (and the monks massacred) by the armies of Zungar Galdan Bochigtu, a rival of Zanabazar's in 1640. About 10 monks reside here in the summer months. The head lama is a charming woman who professes soothsaying abilities.
   
• Ovgon-Khiyd Monastery. The monastery is located in the mountains of Khogno-Khan 257 km away from Ulan-Bator, on the way to Arvaykheer, 173 km away from Arvaykheer and about 75 km away from Kharkhorin.
