The presence of oceanic limestone clay and fossilized seashells in the rock
formations provide evidence of a once-existing ocean in this area. Over
thousands of years, the wind has sculpted the rock into its unique structure,
which from a distance resembles the ruins of a destroyed temple. This is why
ancient Mongolians called it Tsagaan Suvraga, which translates to "White
Sanctuary". The cliff stands at a height of 30 meters and stretches almost 400
meters wide.
